The recording sessions came from two primary locations - The Pathe Marconi Studios (1977-78) and RCA Studios in Los Angeles (August 1978). Tracks 3, 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12 have supposedly never been released on any other bootleg release before! Outstanding!!! This is the word to use when describing this bootleg! There are no weak tracks on the whole disc. The album contains lots of blues, country, and punk music. It is a great document of the "Some Girls" recording sessions. The first twelve tracks are made up of nine song outtakes and the other six are unreleased songs. Some outtake albums get old, but this is definitely an exception. The album starts with a seven and a half minute version of "Miss You", which includes different lyrics in some parts as well as different guitar playing in some places. This version is very similar to the great prolonged nine minute versions of the song on past tours. Following this are two versions of "Before they Make Me Run", which contrast from each other quite a bit. The first is an earlier version and the second is more similar to the version on "Some Girls". The next outtake on this album is by far the best track on the CDR: "When the Whip Comes Down" is a ten minute version that sounds more like a punk song than the Sex Pistols! The guitar solos in the song are better than a large majority of the songs that the Stones have released. Jagger's voice has more attitude than ever before and it sounds fantastic!! There are added lyrics as well!! Following this is "Beast of Burden", in which Jagger sings in the same voice as on songs like "Emotional Rescue". Finally, there is "Some Girls" which features Sugar Blue on harmonica sounding better than ever, with an extra verse or two, which sounds great!!! Besides the outtakes there are the unreleased songs. Of which includes a cover of Chuck Berry's "Back in the USA" and a cover of Willie Dixon's "I Ain't Superstitious" which features excellent harmonica playing by Jagger. "I Can't Help It" is a true rocker but doesn't yet have lyrics. Then there are the two takes of "What Am I Living For". The first sounds more like a rock song and the second is slowed down more and sounds almost country. This is most likely the best unreleased track on the album! Last, there is "Blue Feeling", which is a slow blues song and may have been written by another artist, but there are no song writing credits, so I am not sure!! The last three tracks are from "Saturday Night Live" in 1978. Jagger's voice sounds hoarse, but still sounds good. These songs are pretty different from the Virgin releases as well. The songs on this disc were very well chosen! The sessions for the "Some Girls" album contains many interesting unreleased songs and outtakes. During these sessions, the Stones experimented with Punk music, and sounded very successful with it!! I strongly recommend this disc!!! The sound quality is excellent as well as the music!!!
